A Couple of Our Favorite Letters
In honor of National Letter Writing Month, and to celebrate last month's release of three new editions in our bestselling Letters To My series, we dug up a few of our own personal letters to share. Here's a special postcard Lea received just last week that's destined to be a keeper, followed by a well worn love letter that our grandfather wrote 65 years ago.

Dear Lea -
Your work always inspires me to remember and believe in the power of the idea, of the minor effort, of the thought that counts!
You have shown me time and time again that meaningful art is within reach of all of us, and the most powerful thing we can do is inspire others to create on their own terms that which will touch those around them.
Here's to one billion artists, each influencing 6 others.

Grandparents' Love Letter Before Marriage (1950)
Chatanooga, Tenn.
Sunday Night
12-10-50Dearest Lib,
How I hated to leave Nashville this afternoon without you. Darling, being in love with you is a full time project -- whether I am with you or not doesn't make any difference to my heart -- it's the same love regardless of circumstances, distance, or the hour of the day.
I love how vividly this very short letter from my grandfather to my grandmother brings me all the way back in time to a specific day before my mother was born. My grandfather was in the newly formed United States Air Force at the time. I can only imagine what it was like to leave his wife-to-be behind with the Korean War brewing on the horizon. Fortunately for us, it all worked out and they were married soon enough!
